September 16, 2021 – In its largest hiring spree in the more than 25-year history of the firm, The Bowdoin Group has added nine new hires, including a director of marketing, to its team. Lauren Kendall, the new director of marketing, joins the firm from T3 Advisors, where she was senior marketing director. The other additions include two senior consultants, a consultant and five associates to support the Boston-based firm’s forecasted strong growth for the rest of 2021 and into 2022.

Ms. Kendall brings over 15 years of professional services and life science experience with a proven track record of service-based marketing leadership to the firm. At T3 Advisors, she spearheaded the digital marketing strategy while establishing the firm as a prominent player in commercial real estate. In addition to her marketing pedigree, she has a degree in Graphic Design from the Art Institute of New York City, with over 10 years of creative design consulting experience. “With The Bowdoin Group’s reputation and industry impact, I am excited to be joining the team,” said Ms. Kendall. “The firm leads with its close partnerships and specialized research, and my goal is to expand The Bowdoin Group’s visibility in the market, and increase the firm’s partnerships with companies who are creating impact and delivering cutting-edge innovations.”

The Next Phase of Growth

Adding to the firm’s recruiting and research divisions are senior consultants Alicia McNeill and Victoria Forema and consultant Ryan Haury.

“We are thrilled to announce this new class of hires, signifying The Bowdoin Group’s next phase of growth,” said Dave Melville, founder and CEO of The Bowdoin Group. “We believe in the importance of hiring from diverse backgrounds. Each class of new hires should support what we hope will be a truly inclusive company composition. Having the largest hiring group historically, representative on multiple levels, will undoubtedly broaden The Bowdoin Group’s reach and aid delivery to our clients—our main focus. ”

Scott Aldsworth, president of The Bowdoin Group, said the new hires are a testament to the firm’s rapid growth over the past year, extending their reach in critical sectors and scaling The Bowdoin Group’s presence in the innovation economy. “Scaling the Bowdoin team will directly contribute to our sizable business goals and close client-partnerships,” he said. “Under our new marketing leadership, we are positioned to continue developing The Bowdoin Group’s brand all while providing the best experience possible for our clients. ”

Leadership and Strategic Roles

Founded in 1994, The Bowdoin Group specializes in leadership and strategic roles for a wide range of companies, from small firms building out their executive team to large firms sourcing talent for rapid market expansion as well as venture- and private equity-backed firms. With deep expertise in biopharma, digital health, fintech and financial services, and software, the firm specializes in the Greater Boston area with the ability to source talent and service companies globally.

Further strengthening its diversity and inclusion efforts, the firm last year formed a strategic partnership with the diversity, equity and inclusion service provider Quantum Power Skills (QPS). “This has been and continues to be a business imperative for us, both internally and external for our clients,” said Mr. Melville at the time. “We have worked hard to understand what we as a firm can do to improve ourselves and the market around us, but we can no longer afford to continue with business as usual. We must leverage and embrace the principles around DE&I to create the highest performing companies and teams we can; that’s our job.”

“We are excited about this partnership for multiple reasons,” said Mr. Aldsworth. “By formally training our team and continuing to foster a truly diversified and inclusive culture, our team will be better prepared to have thoughtful conversations around DE&I with our clients. We know this won’t be easy, but we are excited for the opportunity to implement real change across our ecosystem, starting with our organization and our clients to help empower emerging leaders.”

QPS, a transformative DE&I specialty management consulting firm, partners closely with clients across the U.S. to provide a range of DE&I solutions, creating customized plans using their strategic framework to enable organizations to meet their business goals. Bowdoin has kicked off an ongoing engagement with QPS to focus on internal improvements around awareness and education, as well as to make a positive impact on the vertical markets they serve. The firm plans to partner with QPS to offer clients diversity immersion, equity advancement and inclusion solutions. The solutions include workforce assessments, talent sourcing and development strategies, and industry benchmarking, among others.
