Paul Manning

Bio

Paul has over 29 years of leadership search experience working with high-growth, VC/PE-backed, and founder-led technology companies and currently serves as a Partner at The Bowdoin Group, where he built out the firm’s Software & Technology vertical.

Paul has spent his career in the software and technology verticals in the Greater Boston area, working closely with management teams to define and build their building executive and strategic leadership roles. Paul’s ability to understand addressable candidate pools and craft messaging around the business and role in a way to attract top talent while being realistic about expectations has earned him a strong reputation in the market. While he specializes in Heads of Engineering, Product Strategy, and Product Management, including CTOs, SVPs of Engineering, and CIOs, Paul has also successfully completed C-level and strategic searches for CFOs, CROs, SVPs Global Marketing, SVP of HR, and VP Sales roles.

Prior to joining The Bowdoin Group, Paul founded and served as Managing Director at Open Solutions, a boutique technology search firm where he led the firm from inception to acquisition. Paul holds a B.A. in Marketing with a Minor in Business Information Systems from Roger Williams University.

Paul is an active member of the Boston innovation economy and is a founding member of the consortium, Embrace Boston, an organization aimed to be a primary resource to international companies seeking to establish U.S. operations in the Greater Boston Area. Paul is also dedicated to giving back to the local Boston ecosystem, volunteering and mentoring through the nonprofit YearUp for many years. He currently lives in Massachusetts with his wife and two sons.
