Dave Melville, our Founder & CEO, started the company in 1994 in a windowless, one-room office with a vision to change the way search had always been done. Dave named the company after his alma mater, Bowdoin College—a name that represented quality and value. He was (and is) steadfast about delivering exceptional service to clients and candidates alike, and that mantra remains at the core of what we do every day. In fact, Dave’s passion has become our ethos—with Bowdoin, you can “expect more.”

Since those early days, our business has grown substantially. That success is rooted in a deep understanding of clients’ businesses and ecosystems, trusted relationships, and relentlessly delivering exceptional service. Our vision is to be the leader in building high-growth organizations that will change people’s lives globally through healthcare, life sciences, and technology.
