Kara Barr joined The Bowdoin Group in late 2018 and now serves as the company’s Vice President of Delivery. She was previously the Delivery Team Manager for WinterWyman Executive Search where she was responsible for managing the firm’s high-performing research team. Previous to her role at WinterWyman, Kara served as a Research Associate at Egon Zehnder, a global executive search and management services firm, where she specialized in executive-level placements for roles specific to Data and Analytics expertise (i.e. Chief Data Officers). She was the leading global knowledge manager for trends in talent management within the data and analytics segment, and led the research on analyzing talent trends in the marketplace through networking and other research methods. Kara was also an active member of the U.S. board placements team.
Before she made the transition into Executive Search, Kara was a Senior Research Manager in the Consumer Goods & Services practice area at Gerson Lehrman Group (GLG). GLG provides technology and services to support a marketplace for expertise. Its platform for consultation and collaboration has helped the world’s leading financial services firms, consultancies, corporations, and nonprofits find, engage, and manage experts in a broad range of industries and disciplines. While at GLG, Kara was responsible for client service and product execution on the Consumer Goods & Services team for New York, Chicago, and Boston. She was also responsible for executive recruiting as well as conceptualizing/hosting roundtable discussions in the retail, automotive, leisure/lodging, and food/beverage industries.
She graduated from Bates College where she received a B.A. in Economics.
